Mon June 3 - 21:00 (Glasgow)

We got into Glasgow a little before 15:00. After finding the Holiday Inn Express, we set out to explore the city. We walked through Buchanan Street over to the City Chambers where we observed the first floor since it was the only floor open to the public. We walked over to the Gallery of Modern Art. We saw the building, but couldn't go in because it was closed. Then we trekked a mile across Cathedral Street and saw the Glasgow Cathedral. It was also closed but the outside was beautiful.

On a hilltop nearby, there was Glasgow's Necropolis, which is the symbolic relationship to Glasgow Cathedral and the medieval heart of the city. It was designed as a botanic and sculpture garden to improve the morals and tastes of Glaswegians and act as an historical record of the past greatness. The view from the top was magnificent. You could see the whole city.

Since we are getting up early in the morning, we left and came back to the hotel for some much needed rest.
