So we got to Liverpool before I could finish writing about the Muse concert. (To continue the Manchester story) We walked to the stadium where thousands of people were waiting in the general admission lines. We had seats in the 3rd Tier which I liked better anyways. Ricky and I got a couple Heinekens each and then had fish and chips for dinner. This was my first fish and chips in England. Doors opened at 5 and we went in around 17:30. The first band, Bastille, played about 18:30 and the second act, Dizzie Rascal, a British rapper from London, played around 19:15. They were both good, but Muse blew them away. They came on a little after 20:30 and opened with an amazing show including giant fireballs and a very cool stage and lights set-up.
Each song was exciting and they used every part of the stage. They even had actors on stage during songs and had very stimulating live camera shots of the actors and Muse. Those shots were combined with animations from the stage which looked awesome! They had a giant lightbulb float above stage for one of the songs and a lady came out of the bottom and dance and spun over the crowd on strings connected to the lightbulb.
A robot came on stage during "Unsustainable."
Muse used a variety of stage effects like fog, lights, confetti, fire and other special effects. It was well worth the trip to Manchester for this concert. There mist have been about 50,000 people there. After the concert, we went back to the guest house in Manchester.
